FUNDAMENTALS OF CELL BIOLOGY

Over 100 images were designed and created for this Open Educational Resource (OER) textbook published by Oregon State University in January of 2024.

 

Co-written by Dr. Lauren Dalton of Oregon State University and Dr. Robin Young of the University of British Columbia, the project is an eight chapter textbook designed for second-year university students.

 

The team (Dalton, Young, and myself) are currently nominated for the 2026 UBC OER Excellence and Impact award. Nomination recommenders note that the illustrations "are central to the clarity and accessibility of the material, particularly for visual learners encountering complex cellular processes for the first time". 

 

The textbook was designed to be​ fully compliant with the US Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
